I've played a lot of Pokemon Games growing up. From hand me down Pokemon cards I got from my cousin 10 years older than me, to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platnum, Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver, Pokemon Blue/Red Rescue Team, and Pokemon Explorers of Sky, (all on the nintendo DS), there were so many fun experiences shared amongst friends and family. (total side note, if you are able to play any of these games, I HIGHLY recommend all of them. They're SO fun.)
I also loved playing all the Nintendo DS games on full BLAST, jamming out to the music while enjoying epic battles. This for sure annoyed my sibling and my parents, as those game consoles were not exactly quiet. (and I didn't wear headphones to listen to that music, like the jerk I was!)
Playing those games while listening to those soundtracks were some of the best memories I've ever had. From the storyline of the Pokemon Explorers of Sky games, to the underground tummel shenanigans I had with my sibling in the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl games, some of the fondest memories in my childhood came from these games.
After taking a long break from so many of these games, I was able to replay some of these games, especially the Pokemon Explorers of Sky game. It reminded me of all the memories. All the good times I had growing up with these stories and soundtracks.
The adult world is rough. Starting to become a professional musician has so many challenges and barriers, and there have been several moments where I wished I was able to go back to either better times or earlier in my life to x mistakes. However, I still have to move on and conquer the world to change the world through music.
This piece is inspired by those melodies that wanted me to go back to all the simpler times. To the memories that make me smile. Life will be difcult, but there are great things about the adult world as well.
