The Angel Gabriel from Heaven Came

This haunting melody of the Basque carol seems to capture the mystery and wonder of the traditional Christmas story. The carol was collected in the nineteenth century and views that story from a uniquely Basque perspective. The descriptive poetry is beautifully set in an a cappella arrangement with shifting meters, divisi and an absolutely gorgeous harmonization that stays true to the original intention.
