Q: Approximately how many of instruments will fit?

A: Instruments and cases vary in size from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you want to be extra sure, you should measure the combined width of all your instruments and/or cases. Each of the two-tier shelves will fit 66.75 in wide worth of gear.

 

Q: Will regular and 3/4 size acoustic guitars also fit?

A: Yes they will.

 

Q: Can it also hold violins?

A: No, but there is a separate violin storage rack available for purchase.

 

Q: How many inches of space are needed between the rack and the wall so the instruments and/or cases do not rub against the wall?

A: It can vary somewhat depending on the instrument or case model but we generally recommend you leave approximately 6 in of space.

 

Q: What weight will these shelves support?

Q: Is the rack nitro-safe?

Q: How easy is the rack to assemble?

A: We provide clearly illustrated instructions and all necessary hardware. Still, this product is semi-complex and will be much easier to assemble if you have help from a second person.

 

Q: How many inches will the instrument cases extend above the height of the rack?

A: It can vary somewhat depending on the case model but generally we suggest about 7-8 in for ceiling clearance.

 

Q: Does the listed height of 69 ½ inches include the wheels?

A: Yes it does.

 

Q: What size doorway will this product fit through?

A: It will fit through doorways up to 80 inches high and 33 inches wide. Instruments and cases add further height and width depending on their size.

 

Q: Can the separator dowels be easily removed to fit more cases?

A: Yes, they are all removable. They can be placed anywhere along the rail OR they can be removed completely to give you more storage area for more instruments.

 

Q: Will the instruments or cases directly contact the wood of the cross rails?

A: No. There is a high-grade, durable plastic molding along the rails which the instruments and cases will rest on.

 

Q: Can this product be assembled and used without the wheels?

A: Yes. We provide the wheels just in case the rack needs to be moved around your room, but it can certainly be used without the wheels. If you have low ceilings and need extra height, you may prefer to eliminate the wheels which add 6 inches.
