The Bells

This setting of Edgar Allen Poe's classic poem consists of four songs for SATB choir and piano, each song based on one stanza of Poe's original poem. The songs are separated by a Theme and Variations for a cappella chorus. Composed and dedicated to the New Britain High School Choral Department, this piece evokes a different feeling for each of the songs which consist of "The Sledge Bells", "The Wedding Bells", "The Alarum Bells" and "The Iron Bells".
