The Book of Call and Response

John Feierabend has spent decades compiling songs and rhymes from the memories of the American people, in hopes that these treasures will be preserved for future generations. These books are a result of his belief that when many generations share common experiences such as traditional folk songs and rhymes, it helps them develop a valuable but dwindling commodity, a sense of community. Sharing also enables adults to tap into their own wonderful childhood memories as they pass on that same repertoire to their children. The calls and responses are structured so the leader sings one part and the group sings a contrasting response.
