The Cat Walk

This piece for Clarinet and Piano is lots of fun and perfect for any beginner player! Utilizing only the notes below the break, this piece gives the performer a great platform in which to practice their fundamentals in tone production, especially on the throat tones. The piano starts the piece in a grandioso style, presenting our main character, the cat! The bouncy melody presented by the clarinet gives the imagery of a proud cat walking along. Watch out though, for the cat might find a mouse and swat at it during the quick crescendos in the music! Then finally, the cat decides to sneak away and take a nice nap as the music fades away at the end.
