The Christmas Song

Starting with a classic tenor saxophone ballad sound, the melody then moves among the quartet. The writing is somewhat contrapuntal moving to a double-time soli with the theme lilting over the top. Next, we find the melody moving from soprano to alto with the bari walking and the soprano and tenor comping an ostinato rhythm. The bridge melody is embellished and harmonized homorhythmically. We return to the opening setting to close the setting.
