The Clock Tower

Centered on the notion of time, this piece uses creative and fun writing for all sections to emulate a clock tower. Your percussion section will get plenty of action on the chimes and temple blocks as they create the tick-tock of the gears and the hourly ringing of the bells. The winds add in a variety of colorful staccato sounds and bell tone accents that resemble the hustle and bustle that surrounds the clock tower in a busy town square. Legato woodwind lines create a nice contrast and give students experience shifting between the two styles.
