The Eagle's Quest

Commissioned to mark the 400th anniversary of the birth of Cort Adeler, a renowned Norwegian-Dutch sailor, naval captain, and later a vice admiral. His Dutch name Adelaer means "eagle." This work celebrates his life but is not programmatic, simply reflecting the town of Brevik's pride in one of its most famous sons. Toward the end of the piece there is a brief quotation from the town song Brevikssangen for a fitting and captivating conclusion.
