Put the pedal to the metal! Inspired by the fountain of sparks when cutting metal, this work is designed to "sharpen" the skills of any young string player. Beginning in A minor with quiet, focused energy, then adding a driving beat mixed with a lush middle section, this epic piece will have your students rocking out. Light syncopation, dynamic contrast, and some part independence offer opportunities to work on important aspects of ensemble performance.
