The Hallel refers to Psalms 113-118, which, in the Jewish tradition, are one continuous prayer recited during certain Jewish holidays. In this medium-length multi-movement work for times of thanksgiving and praise, Lloyd Larson has set the text using several engaging musical styles. It is flexible, and may be used either for worship or unique concert opportunities, with optional narrations included and medium-sized orchestration available.
