Known as Psalm 19, this setting of Marcello's famous organ piece is a
perfect fanfare-filled recessional for weddings or other festive services.
Based on the biblical text, the heavens declare the glory of God, it contains
alternating antiphonal-like sections playing as echoes between instruments.
Marcello was a famous Italian contemporary of Antonio Vivaldi in the baroque
era, and this stirring musical gem is an essential addition to the brass
quartet or quintet library. Scored for
flexible instrumentation, it can be performed by two trumpets and two
trombones, or with a horn substitute part; add the optional tuba part to make
it an effective quintet piece.
