The Loblollies In Summer

Welcome to the South and the home of the tall majestic Loblolly Pine. This tone poem will have your audience absorbed in the forests of the loblollies as they sway to and fro in the summer breeze. The mallets and muted brass set the tone of the piece. This is followed by the main theme introduced by the solo trumpet. A developmental section ensues as the piece moves from concert Eb to concert F with tempo changes. It then returns to concert Eb and the original tempo with a recap of the main theme followed by a coda-style ending.
