"The Planets" Guided Listening Presentation

This guided listening presentation has all you need for teaching about The Planets by Gustav Holst. This resource gives a historical overview of the piece and time period, scientific information about each planet, and includes several video examples through the use of SafeShareTV. The presentation comes in both PDF and PPT formats. Included with the presentation are a series of worksheets and printables that span music, history, and science connections: follow-along questions for presentation, follow-along questions for orchestra videos, exit slips, listening journal sheet, crossword puzzle, and word search. Best suited for grades 5-8, but can easily be used as a supplement for other grade level units.
