The Prodigal

Mack Wilberg has crafted a meaningful retelling of the prodigal son story, using text from Luke 15, paired with other texts by David Warner. The chorus sings throughout and there are no parts for soloists. The chorus often acts like a greek chorus, sometimes participating in the action and at other times commenting on it. The work has three possible accompaniment options: organ alone, or full orchestra, or chamber orchestra which includes organ, piano, percussion and strings. 20 minutes.
