There's a ton of meaningful content in this medium easy swing chart in a modern style! It transitions into brief salsa sections, and provides written or ad lib solos for alto saxophone and/or trumpet and piano. The band even gets to do their best Dizzy Gillespie impression by singing Salt Peanuts during the bridge! There's also a terrific shout chorus that starts with a soft tutti and builds dynamically to the D.S. sign. It's also playable with as few as nine players on up to the full band instrumentation of 17 players. Between this writer's great big band composing ability and the entertainment value if this piece, how can you lose?
