Lyrics by L.M. Montgomery
from "Emily Climbs"
I've always considered myself somewhat of an optimist. This song speaks to my optimistic nature in the midst of COVID-19 scares, worries, and disheartening news. "The Seller of Dreams" is offering you any vision or invention you can dream. Dreams may not always end up as we expect, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't still dream.
This was one of those moments where I was struck by a text and knew I had to set it to music. It took me the better part of a day to write this one (hooray for quarantine!) and then I premiered it on YouTube that evening. It's a composed with a lively lilt set to lift the heart and soul.
Lyrics:
I've a pocket full of dreams to sell.
What d'ye lack? What d'ye lack?
A dream of success-
a dream of adventure-
a dream of the sea-
a dream of the woodland-
any kind of a dream you want at reasonable prices,
including one or two unique little nightmares.
What will you give me for a dream?
