"The Walrus and the Carpenter" is a fine example of Lewis
Carroll's wry sense of humor. This musical theatre piece was conceived as a
vehicle for dancers who could sing.
Hence, lengthy musical passages with no singing. Alternatively, it might well be performed
by singers who can move. Additionally,
one might use video in lieu of movement, or any combination of movement,
video and/or editing of the music.
It needs two singers in the leads. The oysters might be of different ages
to represent young and older oysters. Plays about 20 minutes. Good as a
curtain raiser.
