This little woodwind suite intended for your better second year players gives them the experience of two contrasting styles. A lyrical opening moves quickly into a spritely dance-like section where the main theme gets passed around the ensemble. The suite does allow for flexibility in terms of instrumentation. If a bassoon and /or oboe is unavailable the suite is still very workable. The bassoon part is doubled in the bass clarinet while the oboe part could easily be covered by a second flute.
