"The Woman's Game"

Music by Ember Shilts Libretto by Julian Baldwin Scene context: After an electrifying performance from Julie at the Paris Royal Opera, Julie meets one of her admirers, Sophie. Sophie is a strong, flirtatious, and sharp witted woman with the uncanny ability to read people like a book upon first meeting them. Sophie and Julie proceed with a flirty exchange before Julie invites Sophie back to her quarters. Upon questioning Julie's past, Sophie examines Julie and proceeds to retell her entire story while calling her out for her prior romantic conquests. After making her point, Sophie proceeds to lead Julie to bed as she describes the allure of the woman's game.
