The first movement of Sonatina #2 'Ancestors' is about leaving the homeland. I took the theme and developed it into a flute choir piece. 4 flutes, alto and bass. It has an introduction and then ABA format. I think my favorite part is the B section where the alto flute plays a subtle, driving rhythm and then puts in a 'drop' as we return to the A theme.
