This contemporary swing chart begins with a powerful statement from the entire ensemble, then pulls back to more intimate instrumentation with soprano, trumpet and trombone stating the melody. Solos are for trumpet and soprano. Each instrument blows over a Latin (songo) section and a swinging section. The saxophone section is then featured in a highly motivic and contrapuntal soli/shout. This eventually leads back to the melody and a drum feature over the songo groove to end the composition. Instrumentation is S/A/T/T/B Saxes; 2 Trumpets; 4 Trombones and standard rhythm section. Trumpet range is to C6.
