This is the Day That the Lord Has Made

This is the first movement of Bortniansky's three-movement Choral Concerto No. 9 which is normally sung during the Divine Liturgy. This work is set for unaccompanied performance, a rubric of Orthodox choral music; this edition was gleaned from sources prior to Tchaikovsky's 1882 edition in which he admitted changing voice leading, removed or added ornamentation, and added innumerable dynamic markings. The original Slavonic text, English text, and pronunciation guide as well as extensive notes are provided in the score.
