This Joyful Eastertide

This choral fantasy uses the hymn tune VRUECHTEN as its underpinning but riffs on the tune by altering the phrasing, cadences, and even takes an excursion into the relative minor. Divisi parts form two separate choirs for an a cappella verse; otherwise, an energetic organ accompaniment keeps everything on track. The result is an exuberant Easter anthem with just the right balance of the familiar and the fresh. Also available in the original Dutch.
