Three Chants

Siegfried Thiele’s Three Chants are short, easy-to-learn yet harmonically intriguing pieces for three equal voices. They are thus suitable for small ensembles as well as female and male choirs if the violin clef is read an octave lower. In here, Thiele uses short poems by the Silesian mystic and theologian Angelus Silesius (1624–1677) whose epigrams belong to the most important lyrical works of Baroque literature.
