Three Dance Episodes (from "On the Town")

This 1944 musical was Leonard Bernstein's first work written for the Broadway stage. The story line follows the adventures of three sailors on shore leave in New York City and focuses on a series of three dance episodes which the composer later used to create an orchestral suite. Beautifully transcribed for winds, this setting contains all the musical hallmarks that made the original such a huge musical success.
