Three Pieces for Viola and Piano

Commissioned by violist Brett Deubner, Somers compiled a set of three songs to be used as short program fillers for an upcoming recital of Deubner's. "Song" is from a previously composed set of art songs arranged for viola, "Christmas Pastorale" is an arrangement of a composition gifted to one of Somers' supervisors at Cornell, and the third and final piece, was a fugue taken on by Somers, sandwiched between a lovely prelude and a expressive meditation. A lovely set of three pieces perfect for any violist looking to add to their recital or repertoire.
