The Lamp and the Bell (a five-act play; first produced June 18, 1921), was
written on the occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the founding of the
Vassar College Alumnae Association. It was dedicated to 1917, Millays
graduating class. Composed in 2013-14, my musical settings to these three
short pieces illustrate Millays elegant, but concise style.
