Wales is often referred to as "The Land of Song" and singing has always been an important part of Welsh culture. There are many hundreds of Welsh folk songs, some of which are now recognized internationally. The three well-known songs in this publication were originally from a set of six arranged for mezzo-soprano and piano. These new arrangements for flute and piano have retained many features of the original but have been slightly adapted for instrumental use. They would make excellent recital pieces for the intermediate player. The three songs are:
1. Cysga di, fy Mhlentyn Tlws (Sleep, my Pretty Child)
2. Migildi Magildi (Song at the Smithy)
3. Si Hei Lwli, 'Mabi (Sleep, my Lovely Baby)
