Thump is designed to be a fun work that explores the interplay of rhythm and articulation, focusing on a funky jazz feeling to set a groove and create a foundation ostinato-type feel to explore over. The range is not overly demanding, and it should sit well with many advanced players. The rhythms overall are not designed to be difficult, but the interplay of the rhythms create a landscape of interesting ideas that should be enjoyable for both the players and the listener.
