This was a varied year, hence this set I have written a varied set of pieces. The items here range from late romantic, impressionistic, modern, and even a piece inspired after Japanese pop, all of which are interesting choices for a recital. For the advanced pianist.

Many musical quotations are taken from the game Genshin Impact (2020).

Piano Solo

A sonata in four movements, very advanced difficulty:
I. Chiaroscuro: Allegro tempestuoso
II. Intermezzo: Andante sostenuto - Tempo di minuetto - Meno mosso
III. Notturno: Senza misura - Adagio, molto espressivo
IV. Finale: Allegro molto

The first movement is in strict sonata-allegro form in coda, and the last movement is planned to be in strict form as well. The middle movements wander in and out of focus and serve as programmatic development rather than thematic development, and the last movement is cyclic.

The program of the sonata comes through its title, Lumine: it is a grand struggle between light (represented by sharp keys) and darkness (represented by flat keys). For this reason, the middle movements feature highly progressive tonality, wandering from darkness, to light, then back and forth.

Format

Moderately difficult for the advanced pianist, tackles a gamut of
  techniques (large left hand patterns, diatonic scales in thirds, runs, and
  the like).

I would consider this my magnum opus; hence posting this Op. 27 before everything else. This is a (roughly) three-part fantasy based on Chinese folk music, containing elements of Romanticism, Impressionism, East Asian popular music, and a bit of syncopated jazz. This piece was written for the 2022 Lunar New Year (1 February), which I celebrate as a Chinese-American.

Performance-wise, the Fantasy is designed for advanced/virtuoso pianists, featuring many technical challenges: a multitude of polyrhythmic passages (with an exceptionally thorny one in the coda), fast and highly syncopated sections, wide left-hand arpeggios, difficult melody/countermelody voicings, and large jumps. So best of luck if one decides to give this a go.

24 Preludes, Series 2

Solo with Piano

A set of 24 concert pieces in all major and minor keys, designed for all
  levels of pianists from the intermediate to the virtuoso. Note: the average
  difficulty of pieces in this set is *medium-advanced*.

    The four pieces are interconnected: the tonics of the pieces are all 3
  semitones down from the previous piece, starting from A, and the ending
  harmonies of each piece is used to begin the one after it.
    
    
    
    Difficulty: Medium-Advanced to Advanced.

Character Pieces

These are 4 etudes I wrote over the course of two years. These are suited
  for established advanced pianists, or late intermediate/early advanced
  pianists who desire a challenge.
    
    
    
    The first etude, in F Minor, is a rhythm and octave study, designed to
  train late intermediate to advanced pianists on sustained octave passages,
  and is an endurance challenge.
    
    
    
    The second etude, in C Major, is similar to the first in that it trains
  repeated notes, but is much more forgiving: it is shorter and features
  smaller intervals than the octaves of the first piece.
    
    
    
    The third etude, in G-flat Major, is a study in fast staccato passages and
  large left hand jumps.
    
    
    
    The final etude, in A-flat Major, can be considered a concert etude. It is
  a study in learning the 4:3 and 3:4 polyrhythms (with shifting accent
  patterns!), as well as refining dynamic control and voicing across different
  fingers.
