THIS MUSICAL IS PERFECT to celebrate the 2026 Two Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary of the United States! Book, Music and Lyrics by Darryl  Bojanowski.  Orchestrations by Bill Corcoran. As Benjamin Franklin writes his memoirs, he naturally recalls all the great things he did.  But he cannot escape the sadnesses in his life, especially his estrangement from his son William. In the end he realizes that his greatest accomplishment is helping to create the United States of America.

SYNOPSIS: Frankly Ben Franklin, largely based on the founding father’s autobiography, is more than a simple recap of his many accomplishments. It does feature such things as his successful printing business (including Poor Richard’s Almanack and the Pennsylvania Gazette) and his famous kite-flying experiment. But it also looks at his relationships with his wife Debby and his son William. While married for 44 years, Ben was in England for 15 of those years, returning to Philadelphia after she died. William became governor of New Jersey but remained loyal to George III and the two never reconciled. In the musical, as Ben is writing his memoirs, he is bombarded by a barrage of memories that refuse to come one at a time. By the end, we see his proudest memory, the signing of the Constitution of the United States, which created “a republic. If you can keep it.”  Originally produced at A Premiere Playhouse, a regional musical theatre in Columbus, Ohio.

SATB Octavo

A NEW show for the holiday season, this musical adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffmann's "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" is a large cast, full-length musical comedy that tells the hilarious story that precedes the Nutcracker Ballet!

SYNOPSIS: Herr Drosselmeier gives his niece Marie a nutcracker for Christmas.  She falls asleep and dreams about a battle between the mice and her nutcracker.  She tells her uncle, and he tells her the story of how it all came to be.  He says that after the Queen ran all the mice from the castle because they stole the King’s sausages, the Mouse Queen (Mouserinks) sneaked in and placed a spell on the King’s baby girl, Pirlipat, making her as ugly as a nutcracker.  Pirlipat can only be restored to beauty by eating the fabled nut Krakatuk, which must be given to her by a young man who has never shaved and never worn boots.  It takes 16 years, but the court astrologer finally finds Krakatuk and the young man.  But just as Pirlipat is about to eat the nut, Mouserinks appears and knocks the young man over.  Pirlipat is cured, but the young man has been changed into a nutcracker.  To be changed back into a young man, he must battle the 7-headed Mouse King. When the nutcracker seems to have lost the fight, Marie throws her shoe at the Mouse King, slaying him and winning the day.

Gadzooks! A Musical Melodrama

Based on characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "Mister Sherlock Holmes," is a medium-sized cast Musical Mystery set in London in the late Victorian era.
 
Cast: 2 women, 4 men (3 M, 1 F with doubling), 1 female 1 male teen, and 7-10 mixed gender teens ages 10-14. Adult ensemble is optional.
 
Synopsis: Someone is busting busts.  Busts of Napoleon.  The likely culprit is none other than London’s Napoleon of crime, Professor Moriarty.  And if Moriarty is involved, Sherlock Holmes is certain to be on the case.  And if Holmes is there, his equally famous chronicler, Doctor Watson, must be there as well.  Add 221B Baker Street housekeeper Mrs. Hudson, Abigail Martin, Moriarty’s flamboyant cousin from Chicago, and the loyal and ebullient Baker Street Irregulars and you have a tuneful yet engrossing musical mystery.  Next stop, London!

Synopsis:  Perfection is so hard to find – especially if you are a prince and your mother decides you must marry the perfect princess.  The queen has decided the only way to be sure she has found a true princess in every way is to administer the Perfect Princess Test.  So far, no one has passed it.  It is a dark and stormy night when a possible contender arrives - unannounced - who CLAIMS to be a princess. Is she who she says she is, or is she really the niece of the Queen’s Butler who is secretly planning to take over the kingdom himself?  Hmmm…Let the TESTS begin.

The Perils of Penelope

The Case of the Counterfeit Napoleon

"The Reluctant Dragon" musical is adapted from Kenneth Grahame's story of the same name.  Several of the instrumentals from the musical have been combined as program music into "Knights and Dragons Suite for Orchestra," similar to the famous "Peter and the Wolf."   The musical is an allegory: The Boy represents all children; The Mother, all parents.  The Dragon is any thing or person that defies our notions of what that thing or person should be.  And St. George?  He's the pragmatic arbitrator who comes to realize -- and accept -- that he doesn't really know so awfully much about what dragons are like after all.  MAY WE ALL BE LIKE ST. GEORGE!   A "Knights and Dragons" video is included for concert programming. The orchestra can play the score and the video can be projected on a big screen - the timing is exactly the same. Start a new holiday tradition with "Wilbur the Wishing Elf," a small cast musical comedy that shares an important holiday message about the true meaning of Christmas wishes.
 
Cast: Four actors with doubling, or seven actors without. One octave+ ranges for soprano, alto, tenor, bass Synopsis: Ever wonder how Santa knows what to bring you – even if you forgot to tell him?  It’s the job of the Wishing Elves to listen in on children’s wishes and report back to Old Saint Nick.  Becoming a Wishing Elf was something Wilbur never dreamed possible – but now that he has his chance, he just MUST make good.
 
Orchestration Choices: 1) 10 piece orchestra OR 2) Three Keyboards and Percussion OR 3) Digital Orchestra .mp3 Performance Tracks.  All three choices are included!
 
Performance Time: approx. 1 hour with no intermission
 
How To License This Musical For Performance: Your purchase of the minimum required Libretto/Vocal Books allows you to PRODUCE this show!  Simply email a copy of your JW Pepper receipt to TND@LicenSINGMusicals.com and you will sign a contract with TND MUSICALS for your performance dates.  All Production Materials - which currently cost $370 - are delivered digitally so you don't have to erase markings and mail the orchestra books back!  If you are an accredited School Theatre, there are NO LICENSING FEES.  All other theatres will pay a negotiated licensing fee based on your number of performances, ticket prices and seating capacity.
