The difficulty level is very accessible. It is appropriate as a post-Communion reflection or during the feast of Corpus Christi.

O Sacrum Convivium

A gentle, lyrical setting of a paraphrase of Psalm 16 is written for voices with descant and optional oboe. The whole-tone scale in the opening bars and some modulatory twists offer a nod to the early 20th-century impressionists while still being accessible tonally. Hillert incorporates the simple Gregarian form of the chant as the opening part of each verset; the choir sings the chant in unison, then follows with a more florid and intricate response. Consider for use at Evening Prayer, at ordinations, or at rites of religious profession.

This striking anthem for Epiphany is a triumphant setting with organ that announces the devotion, worship, and service offered to the Prince of Peace by nations and kings alike. Of medium difficulty, it uses subtle syncopations, occasional Neapolitan harmonies, and light percussion to evoke the travel of the kings and magi from the east.

All Nations Shall Be Blessed in Him

Prayerful and reverent, this gentle setting of Jenkins's text is set for SATB choir and organ. The mostly stepwise melody is reminiscent of a folk song (including the final plagal cadence) and will be pleasing to the listener. Barton has nicely distributed the forces throughout the piece, sometimes presenting the tune with just the men (as at the beginning), just the women, or using the full SATB choir, both with and without the organ accompaniment.
