The ancient legend of the Trojan War forms the narrative foundation for this concert band work drawing on Homer's Iliad and the tale of the Trojan Horse. The story traces Paris' fateful judgment, the abduction of Helen, and the ensuing ten‑year siege of Troy by Greek forces. Victory comes not through battle but through deception, as Greeks hide within a wooden horse and destroy the city from within. The aftermath leaves Troy in ruins, with only Aeneas escaping to carry the legacy forward into legend. The story is perfectly conveyed in the music, making for a strong concert closer for high school ensembles.
