Scott Ninmer's burning swing/shuffle chart maintains the blues tradition while mixing in some contemporary harmonies, with nice shout sections for the entire ensemble, all at around 120 bpm. Additional features include lots of solo space for written or improvised trumpet and alto sax solos, a nice groove, and innovative voicings. There's a cool interlude after the solos by the full ensemble, then on to a big, showy section featuring piano and rhythm section before a soft section that leads back to the infectious melody. A super chart that is highly recommended!
