Twin Ports Overture

This work honors the life and legacy of a public school music educator who enjoyed a long and distinguished career. In contrast to a typical elegy, there is an evident celebratory feel, sparkling and colorful. Brass is prominent in many parts and the well-known hymn Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty, which was played at the memorial service, is featured prominently throughout the work.
