Two Dances, First Book of Dances (Pierre Phalese, 1571) for Wind Instruments

Pierre Phalese (1510-1575) was a Flemish publisher and his First Book of Dances, an extensive collection of dances in four parts, was published in Leuven in 1571. They are attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. These are the thirteenth and fourteenth dances in the original publication. This arrangement is scored for virtually any combination of conventional wind instruments and percussion, with optional keyboard part. The flexible arrangement makes them playable by all sorts of non-standard ensembles. The optional keyboard part enables you to use the piece as a solo or duet and trio for mixed instruments. This arrangement contains dances 23 (Premier Bransle de la Guerre) and 2 (Les Bouffons) from the original 1571 publication and they are transposed from G major into F major.
