Uncertainty

For solo Bb clarinet and electronic track (no click track necessary). Uncertainty, is, quite simply, a work that follows its own title. It journeys through phases of unsettlement, frustration, discovery, dashed hopes, fighting against the odds, and the sense of being at a loss, before coming to a final glimmer of hoperealized or believed. Musically, the soloist and electronics take turns acting as the driving force of the piece. It harmonically relies on two of my favorite scales: octatonic and Phrygian-Dorian.
