Rouse created Virginia Beauty inspired by the history and natural beauty of the state. It has been referred to as a musical tour of Virginia and the unofficial state song, and has been recorded and performed in Bluegrass, folk, choral and pop styles. Sung by the Virginia Choral Society(with added intro), high schools and Honors Choirs across the state, this SATB arrangement by renowned arranger John Hinchey has been adapted and enhanced with choirs substituting their local rivers and scenic views in the lyric.
