"Vista" is a work for full orchestra, and was originally written as an entry to the 2025 Pegasus: The Orchestra composition competition in New York/New Jersey. The theme of the competition was "Americana," and "Vista" is brimming with these motifs. It is very heavily influenced by the music of Aaron Copland, with just a touch of Philip Glass tossed in for good measure. It ranks in the mid-to-upper class of difficulty, mainly for the string parts. An excellent showcase number for spring concerts.
