Vivaldi - Cum Dederit for String Orchestra

Antonio Vivaldi's "Cum Dederit" from Nisi Dominus, RV 608, stands as one of his most poignant and introspective sacred works. This movement, part of the broader Nisi Dominus (Psalm 127), captures a rare mood of serenity and meditation in Vivaldi's output. In my string orchestral arrangement of "Cum Dederit," I sought to preserve the delicate balance Vivaldi achieved between the vocal line and string accompaniment, while enriching the texture for a purely instrumental rendition. By allowing the strings to take on the vocal role, I was able to explore deeper resonances within the ensemble, emphasizing the rich harmonies and subtle dynamic shifts.
