Waiting to Exhale

Originally written in 2017 for a small jazz combo, this piece has been brilliantly re-orchestrated here for four marimbists on two shared instruments, resulting in tighter rhythmic precision and a homogeneous color. With its driving, perpetual 16th-note interlocking rhythms, this piece requires a strong sense of cohesion among the performers. The strong feeling of energy and excitement makes it a perfect compliment to any percussion recital or studio concert. A joy!
