What I See When I Close My Eyes

A Level 5-6 String Octet chamber work that details my imagination, creative process, and production. The pizzicato opening shows reminisce, a spark of an idea. Then, each instrument begins to form their own prime line, representing the cognitive gears of my mind, slowly starting to turn. Eureka! An idea is formed! The whole Ensemble strikes chords of victory, of accomplishment! But there is yet work to do...now i must detail this idea to paper, in which this slow yet beautiful process is represented by the slow 3/4 section, featuring Solo Cello and Violin. After that, a brief reflection, of how far this idea has come to light, with a restatement of the pizzicato opening theme. Finally, the work ends with a mad rush to get this idea out to the masses, letting the people know of your creativity, and frantically searching for someone to recognize and further push your idea to greatness. The anxiety is mounting...will my idea be showcased? Will it fall into obscurity? We may never know, as the ending Half Cadence implies this uncertainty, much like the Music Industry, who is just as cunning as to disregard you and your music, as they are to give you a chance...I still wait for that answer.
