What Will Be

What Will Be is a slow, rock ballad to feature either alto sax, trombone or trumpet/flugelhorn soloists. With a beautifully conceived melody the solo part is highly emotional, lyrical and appropriate for the style, and is supported by an interesting harmonic progression. The soloist is supported by sweet counter melodies, there's a section for subtle improvisation by the featured soloist, and a recap of the theme before moving on to an ending with a brief solo cadenza. There are options included for reduced or expanded instrumentations and the excellent dynamic contrasts provide additional interest and maintain the direction of the chart. Highly recommended!
