Using the tune O Waly Waly, solo violin, piano and the sound of a distant tenor drum, Dan Forrest has recast this most familiar hymn into a work of expressive magnificence. Recalling the sounds of a funeral procession from an earlier century, it brings together the elements of mourning and a kind of walk to the tomb, but pauses to reflect on the "love so amazing, so divine" that brought the Savior to His crucifixion.
