Whiff

Whiff was written for Aileen Razey to perform at the 50th anniversary of the 2023 ICA ClarinetFest in Denver, Colorado. The three short movements depict important elements of ICA ClarinetFest: Grenadilla, for the wood that makes the clarinet, Gold, for the 50-year anniversary, and Mountains, for the host city of Denver, which is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. For the world-premiere performance, each movement was paired with a custom-made fragrance from Paisley and Company.
