Windows of the Spirit

Pays tribute to the magnificent stained glass windows–designated as "Sermons in Stained Glass"–housed in the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. Although the work has a range of color and intensity that draws on images from the entire sequence of ten windows, the piece is grounded on two themes of central importance: one that is the musical spelling of the phrase "beam of white light," and one that is the musical spelling of the German term "Auferstehung," which is the "resurrection." Commissioned by the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta for the dedication of its renovated sanctuary organ. Score, 19 p.
