Here is Jon Harpin's transcription of the Shorty Rogers chart written for June Christy's 1962 "Big Band Specials" album. This is an unusual arrangement which switches between a rock and a swing feel, and the rhythmic structure of many of the band backing lines give the chart a distinctive 1960s feel. The chart contains an alto sax solo which may be played as written or improvised from the chords provided. There are also a couple of modulations in the chart just to keep things interesting. It opens in B-flat, shifts to F for the instrumental section, remains in F for the vocal return and then modulates to C for the close. The trumpet ranges are high with the lead going to high F#, 2nd to C# and 3rd to C, so this might be a chart to play earlier in the program. There are no sax doubles.
