Yurikago is a Japanese folk song by composer Shinsaku Kusakawa. In her description of the piece, arranger Rika Fujii states that it is a song her mother used to sing to her as a child. Originally arranged by Fujii as a duet for marimba and sanukite, Brian Zator expanded the duo arrangement to a quartet using two marimbas and two vibraphones. This is effective intermediate level piece for a program wanting to highlight the warmth and tenderness attainable by mallet keyboard quartets. Lovely!
This piece comes as a professionally printed and bound score and includes individual parts in PDF format for printing or for tablet viewing.
