An Introduction to Jabuticaba

Douglas DaSilva - Burke & Bagley
Publisher Desc.  Jabuticaba (Brazilian Grapetree) is grown for its purplish-black, white-pulped fruits; they can be eaten raw or be used to make jellies, juice or wine. This unusual tree, when initially observed, looks quite odd from a distance as if the trunk and branches of the tree are covered in sleeping beetles or a dark fungus. As one gets closer, it becomes apparent that the tree is covered in a grape-like fruit. Upon tasting this delicious fruit, its oddity becomes beautiful and unforgettably unique: a pure joy to experience! An Introduction to Jabuticaba was premiered June 2, 2018, by Jennifer Lafazan, flute, and Douglas DaSilva, guitar, in New Jersey. Duration: ca. 2'.
